[Public] Celtic Dreams: Progress, Day 33

knitting!
Last night, I picked up and began knitting the sleeves. The sleeves are picked up from the armhole corners, and then the saddle stitches are incorporated and stitches are picked up o the other side. Then, they are knitted flat for awhile.

Sleeve Join Point
Sleeve Join Point
Once the body's knitted, you pick up stitches around the sleeves and from the edge of the saddle. Then, you knit flat for a few inches (depending on size), after which you join the sleeve and knit in the round to the cuff. Here, I am perhaps one row shy of the sleeve join point. Once the sleeves are joined, the sleeve decreases begin, and then it's just a question of keeping the patterns consistent and the decreases smooth all the way down. Remember, while it may look like the end is in sight by this point, there's a lot more knitting real estate in sleeves than you think. This sleeve will undoubtedly take days. And after that, I have to knit another one just like it! ;-)

This is the body's journey
This is the spirit's dance
This is a fairy story
This is the renaissance
